Day 1: Irkutsk - Listvyanka

 Arriving in Irkutsk; 

Meeting with the guide; 

Transfer to Listvyanka;

Burhan ceremony 

You will start your journey with a special ritual. According to the legend, when arriving to the Baikal area, a traveller has to come to it with an opened heart and full of good intentions and ask to the Father Baikal to accept him. Hence, the trip will be a success and you will be full of energy for a few months.

Lunch at the restaurant. Tasting Arctic Cisco (Omul), a fish which only lives in Arctic and Siberia; 

Museum of Lake Baikal

Since you are going to have almost 1000km-trip around the area of Baikail Lake, it would be very interesting to discover some exciting facts about its geology, geography, as well as flora and fauna. A visit to the Museum of Baikal Lake will be the best way to do it! 

Chersky Rock 

Chersky Rock is an observation platform, located on the height of 728 meters above the sea level. Having reached the top of the mountain by chairlift, you will enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Baikal, Listvyanka, the source of Angara River, Hamar-Daban, the legendary Shamanka Stone and even the train, passing through the old railway. Amazing pictures are guaranteed!

Day 2: Baikal Lake - Olkhon island

Departure for Olkhon island;

Excursion on Olkhon island 

Olkhon island is the biggest of the 26 islands of the Lake. Called the «the heart of the Lake Baikal» - it is the geographic, historical and a sacred centre of the lake. According to the legend, the first byriat shaman received a gift here. This place is impregnated with the spirit of shamanism and ancient byriat legends. In addition, the island opens a very beautiful view on the lake, the Burhan Cape and Shamanka Rock, which we are going to visit.

Day 3: Listvyanka – Cape Khoboy

Breakfast at the center; 

Meeting with the guide; 

Visit to Khoboy cape 

The Khoboy cape is the most nothern point of the Olkhon Island. During the excursion, you will enjoy a wonderful view of the lake, listen to ancient byriat legends and visit the places of the shamanic power. 

Lunch-picnic;

Dinner at the recreation center; 

Overnight at the center. 

Day 4: Olkhon Island

Breakfast at the center;

Free time to explore the Island; 

Diner at the hotel;

Day 5: Irkutsk

Departure for Irkutsk;

Free time in Irkutsk; Irkutsk has always been a merchant city, here are preserved a lot of wooden architecture monuments and magnificent Orthodox churches. During your free time we advise you to have a walk along the main streets of the city – Karl Marx street, where you will see the buildings of XIX century: monument of Alexander III, the White house, Local lore museum, admire the view of Lower embankment, visit the Church of the Saviour – the only surviving building of Irkutsk Kremlin, Znamensky Cathedral, which houses the miraculous icon and see the place of execution with the Symbolic grave of Admiral Kolchak, located nearby.

Day 6: Circum-Baikal railway

Excursion to Circum-Baikal railway on boat 

This ancient road, long time used by the famous Trans-Siberian, is a good way to know better the history of this mythical route. With its numerous tunnels, stone galleries and bridges it is unique monument of engineering art, which has no analogues. Listed since 1970 as an architectural and historical landmark, this railroad between lake and cliff offers magnificent views on Lake Baikal. On the way to Circum-Baikal railway you will have a few stops and walk along the Shumikha village, Tolsty cape and Polovinniy cape.
