1 day:

10:20 - meeting with the guide at the railway station of Sortavala
10:20 - 12:00 - city tour in Sortavala
The city of Sortavala is the central point of our tour. There are only 30 km from here to the main attraction of the second day, the mountain park of Ruskeala. This small town on the northern shore of Ladoga Sortavala is included in the federal register of historical settlements.
12:00 - 13:00 - Lunch (optional) in one of the cafes in the city of Sortavala will allow you to get acquainted with traditional dishes of Karelian cuisine, you can choose a cafe yourself or follow the suggestions of our guide.
13:00 - 15:00 - Excursion at the Museum complex "Owl Mount" and transfer to a hotel in Sortavala.
This is a real museum in the mountain. We guarantee you have never been to such a place! The expositions are devoted to the geology of Karelia and the two wars of the 20th century. 

2 day:

10:00 - 10:30 - transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park 
10:30 - 12:30 - Guided tour to Ruskeala Mountain Park and free time
Ruskeala Mountain Park is a landscape park created on the site of the extraction of decorative marble. Stone for architectural masterpieces of St. Petersburg has been mined in here for centuries. The Marble Canyon is narrow and long, its steep walls reach a height of 25 meters above the water and create that extraordinary landscape for which tourists come to Ruskeala.
A visit to the park will begin with a sightseeing tour, during which you will be shown all observation platforms with the best views of the Marble Canyon and will listen about how marble was mined and where it was used.
12:30 - 13:30 - lunch (optional)
13:30 - 14:30 - Trip along the coast of Kiryavalahti Bay
The second-day sightseeing program continues with a trip to Lake Ladoga to acquaint you with the beauty of northern nature. Not far from Sortavala, beautiful landscapes of Ladoga begin with rocky islands scattered around the water surface - this is Ladoga skerries.
There are several observation platforms from where you can admire the panorama of Ladoga. In addition, you will visit the church of Sergius and Herman of Valaam, which is a copy of the oldest wooden church in Russia - the church of St. Lazarus from the Murom monastery, here you can see copies of traditional Karelian chapels.
14:30 - 16:00 - Visit to the museum of woodcarving artist Kronid Gogolev
We invite you to visit the museum with an exhibition of works by the national artist of Russia Kronid Gogolev. It is famous throughout Russia for its exposition of epic wooden paintings, made by relief carving, each created from a monolithic wooden shield without the use of glue.
The plots of the paintings are devoted to the Russian north, Karelian nature and popular life. A visit to the Kronid Gogolev Museum helps a lot to learn and feel Karelia.
