This tour is for those who visit Petrozavodsk for just one day and apart from standard city tour wants to visit the island of Kizhi in winter. As part of the program, we invite our guests to tea with a treat and a story about the traditions of tea drinking in Olonets province. 

Karelia is a place of rare beauty where nature and wooden architecture coexist in harmony and revive a unique atmosphere of the past.
After breakfast, you will depart for the city tour during which you will see main streets and squares, the monument to Peter the Great, St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and walk along the embankment of Onega Lake to look at the collection of contemporary sculptures.  Then you will depart for Kizhi Island by hovercraft across frozen Onega Lake, the second largest lake in Europe (1 hour and 15 minutes). Upon arrival in Kizhi Island, you will have a walking tour of Kizhi Museum, one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. 

• The Kizhi Open Air Museum is a World Heritage site and one of the most unmissable greatest cultural attractions in Russia. The island contains some 83 relocated buildings from the 17th to the 19th centuries, each one elaborately crafted out of wood

• The crown jewel of Khizi is the Transfiguration Church, an architectural masterpiece featuring a chorus of wooden domes, gables and ingenious decorations designed to keep water off the walls. Built without using a single nail, it has withstood the elements for over 150 years

06:50 - Picking up a group at the railway station (Petrozavodsk, Gagarin Square, 3) main entrance.

06:50 - 08:00 - Breakfast

08:00 - 10:00 - City tour in Petrozavodsk

10:00 - 11:30  -  Transfer Petrozavodsk - Kizhi on the hovercraft "Khivus - 10" on the ice of a frozen lake.

11:30 - Arrival to the island of Kizhi.

11:30 - 14.30 - Excursion on the main exposition "Masterpieces of Kizhi Island" +   Lunch (tea + bakery) +  Master Class on Traditional Crafts / Visit to the Museum's Carpentry Center (optional) / interactive game program

14:30 - 16:00 - Transfer Kizhi -  Petrozavodsk on the hovercraft

16:00 - 16:30 - transfer to the railway station/any other place in Petrozavodsk (upon request)
