Murmansk is the biggest city in the world beyond the Arctic circle! It’s often called the capital of the Russian Arctic. Here began the great research  expeditions of the most northern region of our planet.

The city is a home port for the world most powerful vessels — icebreakers which are able to break channels through the thick Arctic ice.

Murmansk is stretched along the coast of the Kola Bay, a large ice-free harbor surrounded by many hills and lakes.

The nature outside the city is beautiful and severe – famous tundra and forest tundra with little trees, and a lot of berries and mushrooms in summer.
