Stalingrad factory area that you are going to visit during this tour includes visit to three factories: the Red October factory, Barrikady Gun factory and Tractor Plant.
Stalingrad industrial part was the area of particular significance due to which fierce and bloody fights took place here in 1942. Mass arms production launched in these factories required heroic efforts from the Soviet Army. The final act of the battle of Stalingrad was in the area of Barrikady Gun factory where the last group of German forces surrendered.
You will also have an opportunity to see the monument to Felix Dzerzhinsky damaged during the war, tank T-34, one of many tanks manufactured at Tractor Plant.
One more memorial to the defenders of the city is 17 tank turrets situated in different parts of the city. Today they mark points in which German forces got the closest to the banks of the Volga River. One of them can be seen near the Red October factory.
Your tour guide and the driver will also lead you to the Lyudnikov Island named after the commander of 138th Division who had been defending it for a period of 40 days in 1942.
Your 4-hour tour will end when you will be accompanied back to your centrally located hotel.
